Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo has on Tuesday continued to etch his name indellibly into the history books of international football.
This comes owing to his exploits in Portugal’s latest outing at the World Cup.
Ronaldo and co. are of course currently locked in action on the game’s grandest stage, in a group stage meeting with minnows Uzbekistan.
Roberto Martínez’s troops find themselves on track for a dominant victory, leading by three goals to nil with 45 minutes on the clock.
And it is the aforementioned Cristiano Ronaldo who has proven himself the star of the show to date.
The 41-year-old was responsible for two of Portugal’s three first-half goals, a much-needed personal boost amid a wave of recent criticism.
And as alluded to above, owing to as much, the veteran frontman has secured for himself yet more history.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo is now both the first player to ever score at six World Cup tournaments, and Portugal’s all-time top scorer at the World Cup (10).
