Real Madrid looking to revamp its defence next season

As reported by Cadena SER, The international break has provided Real Madrid with an opportunity to scan the transfer market, not just for immediate solutions but also with an eye on the future.

The report suggests that Real Madrid are ready to revamp the defence in a big way next season, with several targets identified.

Injuries to Carvajal, Militao, Lucas Vazquez, and David Alaba have highlighted the need for changes at the back, with Jonathan Tah and Trent Alexander-Arnold emerging as key targets.

Talks with both players are reportedly advanced, with preliminary contract drafts already in place.

On the left-back front, Real Madrid have been planning ahead for some time, with Alphonso Davies set to join from Bayern Munich next season.

This move appears almost certain, which could lead to the exit of current left-backs Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia, or potentially both, making way for a possible return of Miguel Gutiérrez from Girona.

Gutierrez’s buy-back clause is set at €8 million, a move that could see him reintegrated into the squad.

While these transfer plans might look straightforward, Real Madrid are likely to face many challenges in their bid to sign these targets, especially considering the fact that there is still seven months remaining before we enter the summer transfer window.
