Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe did not take part in today’s training session with his national team due to an ankle issue, reports MARCA.
The 26-year-old attacker, who has been in sublime form this season for club and country, sustained a mild sprain in his right ankle during the match against Villarreal on Saturday night.
As such, the Real Madrid forward is undergoing a recovery treatment after the minor injury he suffered in that game, resulting in his absence from today’s training session with France.
Despite his noticeable absence from today’s session, Mbappe still has time to recover, as France’s first fixture is scheduled for Friday against Azerbaijan.
For now, optimism prevails in the French camp, and the presence of their captain in that match is considered likely.

Indeed, providing an update on his condition earlier today, Les Bleus’ manager Didier Deschamps stated:
“There are always injuries before or after the list. He is here, he had a small issue but nothing serious, otherwise he wouldn’t be here today.”
Deschamps’ and France’s calm stance on Mbappe’s condition contrasts with the concern at Real Madrid, with the club slightly concerned.
The Merengues are hoping the sprain will not cause further problems for their star player, particularly during the upcoming international fixtures.
Real Madrid are especially cautious, given the decisive matches awaiting them after the international break.
After all, Xabi Alonso & co. will face Getafe, Juventus, and Barcelona in their next fixtures once domestic competition resumes, and having their top scorer available is considered essential.
