Injuries have not been kind to Eduardo Camavinga in recent times as he was one of the last players to make his debut under Xabi Alonso this season for Real Madrid.

Having suffered an injury against Getafe in April, the player only made it back to the field for an official game in Real Madrid’s clash against Espanyol last month.

Since then, his minutes have been limited and understandably so as the manager has preferred to exercise caution.

Having started and played 75 minutes for France against Iceland in the recent international break, however, Camavinga has shown that he is ready to take up more responsibility and the manager will look to give him more prominence in the coming weeks.

Camavinga’s interview

Speaking to TF1 a recent interview, the Real Madrid midfielder was asked if he thought he had what it takes to leave a mark at the club, especially given the sky-high standards and expectations.

The player, unsurprisingly, was confident in his abilities to do the same. During the interview, he said, “Will I make my mark at Real Madrid? Yes, for sure.”

Camavinga went on to describe his experience as a dream realised, emphasising that he has cherished every moment at the club, regardless of the highs and lows that accompanied it.

“I’m living a dream. Not everyone gets the chance to play for the best club in the world. I have to make the most out of it.”

Finally, the Frenchman reiterated that he was happy at the club and that he did not see any reason to think otherwise about his present or future at the Spanish capital.

“I’m very happy at Real Madrid.”

Lastly, there are reports that in order to get a place in France’s 2026 World Cup squad, Camavinga’s best bet is to make himself available as a left-back.

While addressing this matter, he clarified, Are you going to ask me about the left-back? Left-back, no. Midfielder, yes.
