A recent report from AS has highlighted a worrying phase in the career of Jude Bellingham, with the Real Madrid midfielder facing growing doubts about his influence at both club and international level.
Once seen as the heartbeat of Madrid’s midfield and a guaranteed starter for England, Bellingham is now going through one of the most challenging periods since his blockbuster move to Spain.
The current campaign has been far from smooth for the England international.
After undergoing shoulder surgery, Bellingham returned to action with high expectations, but the spark that defined his debut season at Real Madrid has not fully returned.
While his commitment and work rate remain unquestioned, the numbers tell a different story.
This season, he has managed just five goals in 20 appearances across competitions, a noticeable drop compared to the 15 goals he scored in 58 matches last season.
Beyond the raw statistics, there is a growing sense that Bellingham is struggling to impose himself on games.
In his first year at Madrid, he was everywhere, dictating tempo, arriving late in the box, and deciding matches with authority.
Now, his contributions often come in isolated moments rather than sustained influence over 90 minutes.

The situation becomes even more delicate when viewed through the lens of international football.
With the FIFA World Cup looming next summer, competition for places in England national football team has intensified.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel faces difficult choices, particularly in attacking midfield roles where options are growing.
One of the biggest emerging challengers is Morgan Rogers, whose form for Aston Villa has been impossible to ignore. Rogers scored twice again as Villa defeated Manchester United on Sunday, taking his tally to seven Premier League goals this season.
Earlier in the season, Rogers even occupied the No.10 role for England while Bellingham was still working his way back from injury.
Since Bellingham’s return, however, his output has not been convincing enough to silence debate.
Bellingham has yet to resemble the complete midfielder who stunned Europe following his high-profile move from Borussia Dortmund.
Instead, he appears increasingly reliant on flashes of brilliance rather than controlling matches through consistency and authority.
