Real Madrid travel to the RCDE Stadium on Sunday night to face Espanyol in a crucial La Liga Matchday 34 fixture.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s side currently sits second in the table, and anything less than a victory would hand Barcelona the league title with four games still to play.
Los Blancos have struggled recently, managing just one win from their last four league matches (1 win, 2 draws, 1 loss). Their latest result was a disappointing 1-1 draw against Real Betis, where they conceded a stoppage-time equaliser in the 94th minute. That run has left them 11 points behind Barcelona, making this a must-win game to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Kylian Mbappe is still out with a hamstring injury, while Dani Carvajal recently picked up a fractured toe in training.
In defence, Eder Militao remains a long-term absentee, and both Rodrygo and Arda Guler are ruled out for the rest of the season.
Midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is also a doubt due to a calf problem and will be assessed before kickoff.
Although Thibaut Courtois has returned to training, Andriy Lunin is expected to start in goal as the staff look to manage Courtois’ fitness ahead of the upcoming El Clásico.
In attack, Gonzalo Garcia is likely to lead the line, supported by Vinicius Junior and Brahim Diaz on the wings.
Possible Real Madrid starting XI: Lunin; Alexander-Arnold, Rudiger, Huijsen, Mendy; Valverde, Bellingham, Camavinga; Diaz, G Garcia, Vinicius
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Sunday, 3rd May.
Fans in the United Kingdom can watch the match live on Premier Sports 1.
