Cash-strapped United could be left with major dilemma over inspirational captain
Manchester United could face a big decision over whether to sell Bruno Fernandes after it emerged the midfielder is a shock transfer target for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are ready to make a £90million move for Fernandes which would give cash-strapped United a major dilemma.
Scouts are said to have been sent by Real Madrid to watch Fernandes as the Spanish giants plot an overhaul of their squad in the summer, having closed in on a deal to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer at the end of the season.
According to the Daily Star, Fernandes has been identified as a top signing who could also be a potential successor to Luka Modric at the Bernabeu.

United manager Ruben Amorim does not want to lose his inspirational captain but United need to raise money and they would have to consider a big offer for him.
Fernandes is under contract at Old Trafford until 2027, with United holding the option to extend that deal by additional year.
The Portugal star has scored 95 goals in 227 games for United in all competitions and is their top scorer this season, with eight goals in 28 Premier League games.
Real Madrid are in talks over finalising the signing of Liverpool full-back Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer this summer.
Alexander-Arnold is in the final three months of his contract at Anfield and is free to discuss a move abroad.
While a deal is still to be fully agreed, work towards completing the transfer is reaching the closing stages.
