Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Levante last night was highlighted by several key moments including Vinicius Jr.’s golazo and Kylian Mbappe’s brace.

Also in the spotlight, however, was Franco Mastantuono who starred on the night and scored his first-ever goal for Real Madrid in a stunning manner.

The convincing win keeps the men on white to top of the table deservingly and keeps up their record of having won all games this season. Heading into the derby this weekend, their form could not be sweeter.

Mastantuono’s thoughts

Mastantuono scored his first goal for Real Madrid on the night, incidentally on the same day that Alfredo Di Stefano did for Real Madrid 72 years ago and the player spoke to the media about the coincidence.

“That’s what they told me when I entered. It’s incredible. I’m proud to share similarities with him. Obviously, I’m not going to compare myself to a player as big as him, but these little details are very nice.”

“It’s a unique feeling and an incredible moment. Tonight I was looking for it and luckily it happened. On top of that, the team won by far and it is very positive. It’s a huge joy.”

Regarding his goal on the night, the Argentine star spoke on how it was a special buildup that he managed to convert.

“The play is started by Vini very well and he sees that he was just on the other side. Luckily I was able to convert well. I had missed other goals before that were easier than the one I made, but above all, I am happy because I scored.”

The player was then asked what Xabi Alonso expects of him on the field, to which he said,

“He asks me to play on the right with a changed leg; to try to associate me and to have the one against one; and to also help in defense.”

“He asks me for several things that I feel very good about being able to do. I hope that helps the team and can continue playing,” he added.

What defines Mastantuono at his young age is his maturity, something that is rare in a player so young.

“I feel very calm. It is a pleasure and a dream for me to be where I am. I live it very calmly and try to make it natural, even if it’s not,” he said when asked about the same.

“I also enjoy many things in life that make me calm: my family, my friends, and my people and that keeps me calm and makes me enjoy what I do, which is the most beautiful job in the world,” he added.
