The transfer team at La Liga giants Real Madrid are growing increasingly serious about the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
That’s according to German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg.
The name of youngster Wirtz has of course long represented a prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital.
This comes amid widespread confirmation that the German international is on the radar of the aforementioned Real Madrid, with a view to a potential transfer down the line.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, then Los Blancos appear primed to imminently step up their pursuit.
As per a report from Florian Plettenberg:
‘Real Madrid are now serious about pursuing Florian Wirtz, and Manchester City have also been informed that Real are pushing for the 21-year-old.’
Negotiations between the board at the Santiago Bernabéu, and Wirtz’s agents, have already taken place, regarding the terms of a contract.
Not only that, but it is added that whilst Bayer Leverkusen remain hopeful of their midfield prodigy staying put next season, they would ‘prefer a sale to Real Madrid’, than one to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
