According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, it has come to light that Real Madrid are ready to spend ‘tens of millions’ to bring in a top-level midfielder from the Premier League.
For months, it has been known that the priority target remains Rodri of Manchester City.
Notably, the Spaniard’s contract runs until 2027, but there is an understanding that he would be open to returning to Spain.
Despite his past connection with Atletico Madrid, it is not viewed as a major obstacle. Financially, however, any deal would require a fee in the region of €100 million.
Alongside Rodri, Real Madrid are also assessing alternative options and one of those is Enzo Fernandez.
Interestingly, the player himself has admitted that he would be open to a move.
As such, his current situation at Chelsea has not been entirely stable, and a change of environment could appeal to him.

However, there are internal considerations at Madrid, as his strong personality and past on-field tensions with players like Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe are factors the club would need to evaluate carefully.
In addition, his price is expected to exceed €100 million, making it a complex operation.
The third option on the list is Adam Wharton, who currently plays for Crystal Palace.
Compared to the other two, Wharton represents a different kind of investment – younger, less proven, but with significant upside.
The English midfielder is understood to be keen on joining a Champions League-level club, which could work in Real Madrid’s favour.
However, there are doubts over his experience at the highest level, as he has not yet been consistently tested in high-pressure club competitions.
