Earlier today, Real Madrid began preparations for their upcoming La Liga game against Villarreal on Saturday night.

It will be the Merengues’ final match before the second international break, and having lost their last league game vs Atletico Madrid, Xabi Alonso & co. will be intent on bagging all three points.

Eder Militao back

Leading up to the match, Real Madrid have received a major boost as key defender Eder Militao will be available for selection against Villarreal.

This comes from journalist Carlos Rodriguez, who confirms that the 27-year-old Brazilian centre-back trained normally with the group today and will be ready to face the Yellow Submarine.

Militao suffered knock on his ankle during the first half of the derby against Atletico and was taken off at the half-time break.

Tests after the game showed that the centre-back was not injured and it was only a bruise, much to the relief of Alonso and Real Madrid.

Despite that, no risks were taken with Militao as he was left out of the trip to Kazakhstan to face Kairat Almaty in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week.

But, now, Militao is back training normally with the team and, as such, he will be ready to take on Villarreal later this weekend.

So far this season, the 27-year-old has played six games in all competitions, even scoring a goal against Espanyol – which won the La Liga Goal of the Month award for September.

It must be noted that Militao has also been named in the Brazil squad by Carlo Ancelotti for their upcoming matches against South Korea and Japan, and will travel to Asia after the Villarreal encounter.
