Real Madrid ‘remain heavily interested’ in Bayer Leverkusen’s Christian Kofane

Sky Germany reports that Real Madrid remain heavily interested in Bayer Leverkusen teenager Christian Kofane.

The Cameroonian joined Leverkusen in the summer for €5.25 million and has impressed despite limited minutes.

Across just over 1,015 minutes in all competitions, the 19-year-old has contributed 5 goals and 5 assists.

Real Madrid had planned to recruit him for their second team, Real Madrid Castilla, but Leverkusen moved first.

Kofane remains on Madrid’s shortlist of potential signings, and the club recently parted with ex-Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.

If a bid arrives this summer, Leverkusen would seek a fee well over €50 million.
