In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid remain keen on recruiting Manchester City midfielder Rodri. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Spanish midfield ace next year.

Rodri’s Injury Struggles At Man City Last Season

Rodri missed a lot of games last season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The 29-year-old made just four appearances for Man City in the previous campaign but failed to score or create a goal for them across all competitions.

The Spanish talent needs to secure regular first-team football if he wants to get his career back on track. Hence, Real Madrid would do well to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.

Rodri is under contract at the Premier League club until the summer of 2027. Thus, Los Blancos would have to make a big offer if they are serious about signing him this January or at the end of this campaign.

Is Rodri A Good Choice For Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso?

Rodri is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and is a good passer of the ball as well. Rodri is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so by his manager.

The Spanish talent has got a wealth of experience at the highest level. However, there are some concerns over his long-term fitness. Therefore, he would be a risky option for Los Blancos to consider next year.

We can expect Rodri to enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Madrid club next season.

With all things considered, Rodri would be an excellent choice for Los Blancos to consider in 2026 as long as they can get him for a reasonable fee. He has got the experience to help Real Madrid compete for some major honours over the next few years.
