La Liga giants Real Madrid have all but decided against making a move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
The name of stopper Porro has of course taken its place front and centre in the transfer headlines in his home country over recent weeks.
This comes amid the understanding that the 25-year-old has made his way firmly onto the wishlist of the powers that be at Real Madrid.
Following the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal, Los Blancos are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements at right-back, with Porro’s recent excellence on the books of Tottenham making him an appealing option.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the operation, as things stand, is simply not a feasible one.
This comes with the Spurs hierarchy having made clear that the starting point for negotiations for Porro has been set at €70 million.
Despite the Spanish international being considered a more defensively sound option, the likelihood, in turn, remains that Florentino Pérez and co. will in the end move for soon-to-be free agent Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool.
