Real Madrid have sent UEFA a dossier on the so-called Negreira case, aiming to prompt European action against Barcelona.

According to AS, the file is already en route to UEFA headquarters and sets out Madrid’s position on alleged irregularities under investigation. The club believes the events should carry sporting consequences and has formally set out its arguments to the governing body, which Pérez had warned at the Champions League final in Budapest.

Florentino Pérez has been re-elected Real Madrid president after defeating Enrique Riquelme. The dossier’s preparation was a central plank of his campaign.

Those around Pérez had long flagged a detailed report cataloguing refereeing decisions they say have harmed Madrid over many years. The club frames it as a defence of competition integrity and calls for firm measures if responsibility is proven.

The report also says Madrid’s request is not limited to a possible exclusion of Barcelona from European competitions. It asks that the withdrawal of titles won during the affected period be studied.

Attention now turns to UEFA, led by Aleksander Ceferin, which has not closed the matter and could act after analysing the documentation and related court proceedings. Madrid consider this the planned next step and say they will pursue the case to the end.
