In the wake of Real Madrid announcing Alvaro Carreras’ move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Fran Garcia has been immediately linked with a move away from the club.

AC Milan have emerged as a potential suitor for the Spaniard, who showcased some highly impressive performances in the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup.

Although his performance in the semi-final was far from great, Garcia has shown he is capable of performing under the right management.

That is perhaps why AC Milan have reportedly enquired about the possibility of signing the Real Madrid star this summer.

Real Madrid want €20 million for Garcia

A recent report from Daniele Longo has offered an update on Fran Garcia’s transfer saga, especially amid interest from AC Milan.

As per the Italian journalist, Real Madrid have set a valuation of around €20 million for the services of Garcia.

However, he adds that both clubs have friendly relations and are in talks over Garcia’s potential move to San Siro.

It must be noted that Real Madrid star Luka Modric recently moved to Milan, although the two clubs did not have to negotiate anything on the matter.

Garcia has barely shown any consistency since rejoining the club. However, the defender showed he can thrive in the wing-back role under Xabi Alonso, prompting Real Madrid to reconsider his future.

But, if a suitable offer arrives, Los Blancos could make a quick profit in Garcia, having already roped in Carreras while retaining Ferland Mendy, who may serve as the main alternative to the new signing.

That said, it is unlikely Milan would want to meet Real Madrid’s €20 million price tag for Garcia and there may be further negotiations as two clubs look to find common ground.
