Just as Real Madrid kickstarted their preparations for tomorrow’s Copa del Rey clash against Leganes, it was revealed that veteran defender David Alaba had suffered a fresh injury, ruling him out for 2-3 weeks.

The Austrian joins Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and Dani Carvajal out on the sidelines for the Spanish capital club.

Vinicius, Jude Bellingham absent from training

Meanwhile, Mario Cortegana reports that key superstars Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. are also absent from team training today, ahead of Wednesday’s Copa clash vs Leganes.

Bellingham was not part of the team training on Monday either as he worked indoors along with some of his teammates.

And, the Englishman is not working with the rest of the group today either, potentially hinting at a rest for him in tomorrow’s cup clash.

Vinicius’ absence, however, comes off as a bit strange, considering that he had only recently come back after missing a few matches through suspension.

It remains to be seen whether the Brazilian is available to face Leganes tomorrow or if he is given a breather keeping in mind the derby against Atletico Madrid coming up on the weekend.

There is some good news though as Eduardo Camavinga has resumed training with the rest of the group after missing a string of games through injury.

The Frenchman’s potential availability will come as a boost for Carlo Ancelotti as he will count on Aurelien Tchouameni as a centre-back in the absence of players like Alaba, Rudiger, and Militao.

There is even a possibility of Federico Valverde being used in defence, which would leave Real Madrid light in midfield, which is why Camavinga’s return to training is a positive sign.
