Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has been named the club’s Player of the Month for September. For the second consecutive month, the French forward received the award in recognition of his outstanding performances.

Last month saw the 26-year-old attacking superstar score a whopping ten goals from just six matches in all competitions, contributing heavily to Real Madrid’s solid run.

Speaking to the club media after back-to-back club Player of the Month award, Mbappe expressed his happiness, saying:

“It’s a pleasure to be player of the month again. We’ve won a lot of games and scored a lot of goals. We’re continuing on our path and are very happy with the way we’re playing and winning. We hope to continue like this.”

Ready for El Clasico

Mbappe must carry forward his good form this weekend as Real Madrid face off against arch-rivals FC Barcelona in what the Frenchman called a special match.

“It’s the game everyone wants to watch. At club level, there’s nothing more special than this match. It can only be compared to a big Champions League match, but at La Liga level, there’s no other match like Real Madrid-Barcelona,” said Mbappe.

“But we don’t just want to play, we want to win.”

Further talking about the match, the former PSG superstar added: “It’s an important week for us. It was against Juventus, but Sunday is a special game.

“We hope the fans will be with us, that they will come out to cheer us on as always. They know the importance of the game, and we know it too, and we hope it’s a great day.”

Talking about his personal form and feelings heading into the match, Mbappe remarked: “I feel very good. I always want to help the team, if it’s with goals, with goals, and if it’s with something else, with something else. I follow the team’s path.

“The team always needs the help of all the players, and I always try to help. The team is ready for whatever happens.

“It’s an important month for us, an important game, but also the rest of the month. We’re going to do what Madrid needs, which is to always win and play well for all Madridistas.”
