Sunderland are monitoring European developments ahead of the summer window, with updates on Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Garcia and Ousmane Dembélé drawing interest.

The Athletic reports that Real Madrid are prepared to listen to offers for 22-year-old Gonzalo Garcia this summer, but are not open to selling 19-year-old Endrick, currently on loan at Lyon. Both were loosely linked with Sunderland last year as the club assessed emerging attacking options, although no move followed.

L’Équipe claims Ousmane Dembélé is currently unwilling to enter contract extension talks with Paris Saint-Germain, so a Premier League move has been described as a possibility.

Dembélé’s situation has piqued interest on Wearside due to his personal connection with Sunderland chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, and he has previously attended matches while at Barcelona. There is no suggestion the Black Cats would pursue him, and Europe’s elite would likely be in the mix should he become available.

Closer to home, Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a major blow, with captain Cristian Romero set to miss the rest of the season after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light. The Argentina international was forced off following a collision with goalkeeper Antonín Kinský while dealing with Brian Brobbey. He is not expected to feature again at club level this campaign, though there is hope he could be fit for the World Cup.
