Real Madrid transfer target Dean Huijsen has this week pointed towards a former member of the defensive ranks in Spain’s capital as his footballing idol.
The name of defender Huijsen has of course proven an increasingly prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent months.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the 19-year-old has been earmarked as a serious transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Huijsen, for his part, is in the midst of something of a breakout campaign in England.
After making the move to Bournemouth from Italian heavyweights Juventus, the stopper has quickly established himself as one of the Cherries’ star performers, impressing the masses with his efforts in and out of possession alike.
Amid their ongoing search for reinforcements in central defence, Real Madrid, in turn, have been keeping a close eye on Huijsen’s development.
And as alluded to above, this week, the youngster has made clear his appreciation for the talents of an icon amongst all of a Blancos persuasion.
Speaking during an interview with Relevo, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Huijsen was asked to name his idol in the game.
And the Spaniard did not hesitate in responding:
“My idol is Sergio Ramos, he’s a reference. For me, he’s the best centre-back in history. He has everything, he’s a legend.”
