Real Madrid are currently facing stiff competition from several Premier League clubs in their bid to sign Martin Zubimendi, as reported by Fichajes.

The 25-year-old midfielder has rapidly become one of the most highly sought-after players in European football due to his impressive performances in the heart of Real Sociedad’s midfield.

His consistency and ability to control the tempo of a game have made him a key figure in La Liga, catching the attention of top clubs, including Real Madrid, who see him as a potential reinforcement for their midfield next season.

Three Premier League teams interested

However, securing Zubimendi’s signature will not be straightforward for Real Madrid. They are up against strong opposition from Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City, all of whom are keen on signing the talented midfielder.

Liverpool were particularly close to securing a deal last summer, as they reached an agreement with Real Sociedad. However, Zubimendi opted to stay, preferring to continue his development in a familiar environment.

Arsenal also present a compelling case for Zubimendi. The presence of manager Mikel Arteta, who has publicly praised the player on multiple occasions, could play a crucial role in swaying his decision.

Arteta, being a fellow Spaniard and a former player himself, may provide the kind of tactical guidance Zubimendi would appreciate, making Arsenal an attractive option.

On the other hand, Manchester City offer a different appeal. Known for their preference for technically gifted players with excellent tactical awareness, they believe that Zubimendi fits perfectly into his possession-based style.

Real Madrid, although still weighing their options, are clearly eager to bolster their midfield.

While they have not made a final decision, Zubimendi is one of the players being considered as part of their plans to find a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos.

As the competition intensifies, it remains to be seen where the talented Spanish international will end up. However, it is clear that his future is set to be a hot topic for some time.
