Real Madrid will bid to cut the gap to leaders Barcelona to four points when the Spanish champions face Celta Vigo this afternoon.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are heading towards a season without the big prizes, following their Champions League exit and Copa del Rey final defeat. Los Blancos still have hope in the title race, but are running out of time to claw back the gap.
Today, Real face a Celta Vigo side who sit seventh and are chasing a place in Europe. Claudio Giráldez’s side thrashed Villarreal 3-0 last weekend to boost their hopes of continental qualification.
The home side remain without Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal due to ACL injuries, with the defensive duo to miss the remainder of the campaign. Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy and David Alaba have also joined that pair in seeing their campaigns curtailed in recent weeks. Elsewhere, Rodrygo is out due to illness.
An extensive absentee list also includes Eduardo Camavinga, though Jude Bellingham and Lucas Vazquez are available despite red cards last weekend. Vasquez will serve his two-game suspension in next season’s Copa del Rey, while Bellingham’s dismissal was overturned.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois; Vazquez, Asencio, Tchouameni, F Garcia; Valverde, Ceballos, Modric; Bellingham; Vinicius, Mbappe.
Real Madrid host Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday 4th May 2025. Kick-off at the Santiago Bernabeu is 13:00 BST.
The Real Madrid v Celta Vigo game will be shown live on Premier Sports 2 and LALIGATV.
