As has been widely reported over the past couple of days, Fran Garcia had a loan move to AFC Bournemouth blocked by Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old left-back appeared set to depart for the Premier League, where he would have reunited with his former Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola.
However, Los Blancos decided not to go ahead with the operation, much to the disappointment of the player, who asked to train separately from the squad on Saturday after the move collapsed.
Now, Defensa Central has come forward with a report outlining why Real Madrid decided to block Fran Garcia’s exit and the conditions that they will set for his exit in the summer.
Bournemouth showed interest in signing the 26-year-old full-back through a loan deal without an option to buy. These terms were not acceptable to Real Madrid, who would only consider a permanent transfer.

In addition, Florentino Perez has always been reluctant to make moves during the winter transfer window, especially if they weaken the squad. This is even more so in defence, an area that, as last season, has suffered numerous setbacks.
As per the report, Real Madrid do not count on Garcia for next season, but the club’s offices decided to halt his winter exit because they were not interested in a loan move, only in a permanent transfer.
Several Premier League clubs are now beginning to make contact with the player’s entourage to explore the possibility.
Despite his limited playing time, the left-back still has a strong reputation, and Real Madrid value a potential transfer at between €15 and €20 million.
All that remains is for concrete proposals to materialise for the player, who after three years at the Santiago Bernabeu, could be on the move in the summer transfer window.
