According to journalist Rodra, it has been learned that Real Madrid forward Alvaro Rodriguez is finalising his loan move to Elche, with the deal expected to be completed today.

The transfer will include an option to buy at the end of the season, giving Elche a chance to secure the player permanently if he impresses.

At 21 years old, Rodriguez is still searching for consistent first-team football. Last season, he spent time at Getafe, where he struggled for regular starts.

Despite featuring in 26 matches, most of his appearances came off the bench, and he managed just three goals across all competitions.

Now, with Elche newly promoted to La Liga, Rodriguez will get a fresh chance to prove himself at the top level. The move is viewed as a crucial step in his development, offering him more minutes and responsibility in a competitive environment.

Has had his ups and downs

Rodriguez’s career is still defined by his memorable debut with Real Madrid, where he scored against Atletico Madrid in his first appearance for the first team.

He netted a key goal in the derby, a moment that remains one of the highlights of his young career.

Despite the ups and downs since that debut, Rodriguez remained determined to succeed at Real Madrid.

Even though Xabi Alonso has not included him in the plans for the upcoming season, Rodriguez made it clear in a recent interview with Post United that his ultimate goal is still to return to the Bernabeu.

“I’ll continue on my path with the goal of returning. My dream is to play for Real Madrid, and I’m going to fight to achieve it, but to do that, I have to leave first,” he noted.

Although he also noted that at the moment, the best option for him is to leave, “I think I have to leave; I can’t wait much longer for the first team.”

For now, Rodriguez will focus on making the most of his time at Elche, hoping to find the form and confidence that will one day bring him back to Madrid, ready for a bigger role in the future.
