La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday evening closed a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks. The player primed to link up with Los Blancos? Carlos Espí.

The name of frontman Espí has emerged as a leading one in the media headlines surrounding Real Madrid across the day to date.

After the brass at the Bernabéu made the call to sanction Gonzalo García’s departure for Fulham, the Levante talent was quickly tipped as a potential replacement in José Mourinho’s squad.

And as alluded to above, just hours on, Espí’s imminent arrival at Real Madrid has been confirmed.

The info comes courtesy of market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that Florentino Pérez and co. have sent a letter to the brass at Levante, confirming the activation of the young goalscorer’s €25 million release clause.

Espí’s Blancos medical has been pencilled in for Thursday night.
