Real Sociedad player ratings as Óskarsson ends season on a high | OneFootball

Óskarsson led the way for Real Sociedad in the final game at Espanyol, ending a strong season on a high.

According to AS, goalkeeper Marrero was La Real's standout on his return after Remiro's late calf problem. He gave assurance throughout, was booked for time-wasting, and could do little about Roberto's goal.

First-half chances came early. Sucic shot over on 11, Ochieng had a 15th-minute penalty appeal waved away, and on 20 Óskarsson was denied by the keeper after linking with Sucic. On 28 Ochieng found Sergio Gómez, whose cross set up Óskarsson's ninth league goal, then Ochieng missed a one-on-one on 40.

Seconds after the restart, Óskarsson had a second cleared off the line. Marrero then produced a superb one-handed stop from Pere Milla on 47 and thwarted Jofre in a one-on-one. A Dolan equaliser was ruled out for a foul on Sergio Gómez.

Aramburu played high and delivered a dangerous cross on 70 before he and Óskarsson went off on 75. Ochieng and Sergio Gómez departed on 67, the latter finishing with three assists this season. Turrientes controlled the first half then faded, Yangel struggled and was cautioned after losing the ball, and Soler left on 89.

Beitia started and defended well despite a heavy collision with Marrero. Zubeldia had a shaky night, errors rescued by Marrero, and, by millimetres, his position spared Sergio Gómez a red card in the first half.
