Real Sociedad have allocated 640 away tickets to Athletic for the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg in Anoeta, more than the 575 they were given for the first leg at San Mamés, ensuring a larger visiting presence than La Real enjoyed in Bilbao.

According to as.com, despite San Mamés holding about 14,000 more seats than Anoeta, Real Sociedad have offered a bigger away allocation because the visitors’ section in Anoeta is larger.

The move means Jokin Aperribay’s club have provided 65 more tickets than they received, a decision that has prompted some Real Sociedad supporters to argue the club should have matched Athletic’s number.

The tie remains open after a 1-0 win at San Mamés for Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side, Turrientes scoring. They also missed chances that could have made the advantage greater.

Kubo and Barrenetxea could be back for this crucial meeting, which sends the winners to the La Cartuja final on 18 April at 21:00.
