Real Sociedad star in the sights of Lyon ahead of winter window | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of Oympique Lyonnais ahead of the January window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Sport Express, who highlight Arsen Zakharyan as the player in question.

Russian international Zakharyan is for his part in the midst of an altogether underwhelming campaign to date at Anoeta.

Amid the collective struggles of Real Sociedad as a unit, the 22-year-old has been afforded just six La Liga appearances, all off the bench.

With those behind the scenes in San Sebastian keen to clear out numbers from the club’s bloated squad in January, Zakharyan has in turn been tipped as a prime candidate to move on.

And a landing spot may well have opened up for the attacking midfielder, in France.

As per Sport Express, Lyon are readying a proposal to bring Zakharyan to the Groupama Stadium on loan for the 2nd half of the campaign.

Any such deal would also likely feature an option to buy.
