Real Sociedad step up interest in Nathan Zezé to bolster defence | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have joined the chase for Nathan Zezé, the 21-year-old Neom SC centre-back, who could leave Saudi Arabia after one season, according to Superdeporte. The LaLiga club view him as a possible defensive addition.

Their interest dates back two seasons. Real tried to sign him then, while Inter Milan lodged a €15 million bid, but the player chose a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Zezé is 1.90 metres tall and highly physical, with aerial strength and strong game reading that aids build-up. Those traits could suit American coach Matarazzo, who favours three centre-backs and seeks a left-footed ball player.

Any deal is unlikely to be straightforward. Zezé moved to Neom SC in 2025 for €20 million, becoming Nantes' record sale, and he is also on the radar of Inter Milan, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Everton and Al-Hilal.

If the chase becomes a bidding war, he is most likely to end up elsewhere.

Real Sociedad will contest LaLiga, the Europa League and the Copa del Rey this season, so Matarazzo will need depth across the back line. If Zezé does not arrive, Real are also working on alternatives, including Kolasinac and Diogo Leite.
