CEO Axel Hellmann discusses the increased stadium capacity, new sponsors, Eintracht Women and the 2025/26 season for the Eagles.

Axel Hellmann on …

… the contract extension with Indeed: “It makes me extremely happy that we’re now going into our third extension with Indeed – three more years to 2029. It’s a long and good partnership with a lot of mutual trust and the utmost professionalism. With the industry leader and a magnet for job seekers in Germany, Europe and the whole world; a real heavyweight of the digital world. It’s a great honour for us.”

… the marketing situation overall: “Indeed until 2029, adidas until 2030, DVAG until 2028, Condor gained until 2028, a long-term commitment from Amex, Deutsche Dienstrad until 2027… We’ve gained a lot of great, new brands, with whom we’re looking forward to the first matchday.”

… merchandising: “I can report on behalf of Philipp Reschke that jersey sales are going very well. In the first four weeks, sales figures were around 30 to 35 percent higher. We can go into the season with great financial stability and know what we have as a basis in terms of revenue and income. Hopefully there’ll be lots more opportunities, such as home matches in the DFB Cup or more than four league phase home matches in the Champions League.”

… stadium capacity: “The capacity has increased to 59,500, which is 1,500 more than last season. Next year, ahead of the following season, we will carry out the very last enhancement and reach a maximum capacity of 60,000 – the final stage of the expansion. That’s the biggest figure since the final reconstruction of the Waldstadion in the mid 1990s. We’ve allocated a total of 36,000 season tickets, 32,000 of those to the general public.”

Eintracht Women: “We’ve sold 1,500 season tickets for the matches at the Stadion am Brentanobad – a record! In the first year after the merger, we took over a stock of 150 from FFC. It represents an increase of 16 percent on last year. The women’s football is also – on a different level – going very well. Demand is high.”

… the 2025/26 Bundesliga: “I’m really looking forward to it, especially with the return of 1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV. Those big names add to the appeal. Full houses, big emotions. We’re already starting against a real traditional club on Saturday, Werder Bremen. My prediction: it’s going to be a lively and strong Bundesliga season, characterised by traditional clubs. There’s going to be a lot to do, not least because of our initial situation with three competitions.”
