Sunderland supporters’ group Red and White Army has issued a positive update after talks with interim chief executive Tom Burwell over recent ticketing problems, and outlined next steps for members.

RAWA said the meeting followed complaints about cancelled away tickets and difficulties during season ticket renewals. Discussions were described as constructive and positive, and the club was said to have acknowledged the issues and to have addressed individual cases where possible.

Positive resolutions were reached for the majority of affected supporters, and ongoing work will aim to ensure lessons are learned for future ticketing. A number of matters had already been resolved following further dialogue late in the season.

Plans to liaise soon with the FSA on European matters after the end of the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign were set out in the update, which also noted Sunderland are now a European football club.

Recent personnel changes were discussed and were described as part of a strategic plan to operate successfully as a Premier League outfit.

For travelling supporters, club stewards are planned to accompany fans on busy LNER trains, following a positive trial at Bournemouth when behaviour seemed to improve. RAWA added that Paul Nelson and Jane Hughes represented the group at a recent Premier League Fan Advisory Board meeting at Villa Park, joining supporter representatives from across the division.
