During the closing stages of Manchester City’s 2-all draw with Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium, it did appear that Pep Guardiola’s side were running on fumes. The world champions squad do appear in desperate need of fresh legs to aid their hunt for a top-four finish this season. Manchester City do appear on the verge of completing three deals as per a new report from Ryan Taylor for the Mirror.
Ryan Taylor has provided an update for the Mirror on Manchester City’s moves for Abdukodir Khusanov, Omar Marmoush and Omar Marmoush. Taylor’s update on Manchester City’s move for Abdukodir Khusanov can be seen below.
Ryan Taylor further reports that Vitor Reis is set to arrive in the UK on Wednesday evening. The Brazilian centre-back will undergo a medical ahead of his move to Manchester City.
Lastly, Ryan Taylor also reports that Manchester City are confident of making a breakthrough in their talks with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Omar Marmoush. Furthermore, Taylor reports that a transfer fee of £59 million should meet Eintracht Frankfurt’s expectations. The rest of the deal will include realistic add-ons for the deal to be completed as per Ryan Taylor’s report.
Watching Manchester City play at the moment you can see that Pep Guardiola’s squad needs fresh legs. Phil Foden spoke of this issue following their 2-all draw with Brentford. Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis will add this to City’s squad. They are also all quality players, so the sooner the deals are completed, the better it will be for the world champions.
The hope is that all three deals can be sealed in the coming days. The quicker they are, the sooner all three players can link up with the Manchester City squad. Too many of City’s players are playing too often, and the effect of this is clear to see. It was on full display against Brentford at the GTech Community Stadium. While Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov are young players that should provide energy to Pep Guardiola’s squad. They will also give Pep Guardiola more defensive options to employ. City’s defensive stocks have been hit hard this season with injury. Omar Marmoush will add quality in the final third to the Manchester City squad. That will be a welcome addition to City’s squad.
The hope also is after all three deals are completed that Manchester City can move on to finding another midfielder. They desperately need one, and it appears to be Manchester City’s last major priority of the January transfer window after they seal the deals for Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush. Who City could potentially target remains to be seen at this stage.
