Remember him? Guilherme Mantuan now at a Rio Grande do Sul club

A player brought up through the youth ranks of Corinthians, the originally defensive midfielder Guilherme Mantuan was one of the promising talents from Terrão and stood out in the lower categories of Timão. The player was promoted to the professional team in 2016, being listed for some matches in the Brasileirão.

The midfielder, who also plays as a right-back, is the older brother of attacking midfielder Gustavo Mantuan, who plays for Zenit in Russia, and even scored goals and stood out in the professional team in the 2022 season. At that time, the Alvinegro was managed by the Portuguese Vitor Pereira.

Guilherme Mantuan had his first chance as a professional player in the last round of the 2017 Brasileirão, against Sport, in Recife. He came on at the 32nd minute of the second half, replacing Pedrinho, and had the opportunity to play for 13 minutes. His second chance came in March 2018, in that year's Campeonato Paulista, against Botafogo-SP, away from home, when he started and performed well.

However, the midfielder lost his place throughout that season and was loaned to Ponte Preta in 2019, where he played only one match in that year's Série B. Out of Corinthians' plans, Guilherme was loaned to Oeste the following year, where he played nine games in the second division. In September 2020, he terminated his contract with Timão to move to Gil Vicente in Portugal.

However, the player did not have the chance to play for more than a year at the Portuguese club. In light of this situation, he decided to return to Brazil in search of more opportunities and signed with Botafogo-SP. In 2024, Guilherme Mantuan signed with Amazonas (played 10 games), and in the second half of last year, he started playing for Botafogo-PB, a Série C club, where he played only two matches.

In 2025, however, he transferred to Caxias, a club competing in the Série D of the Brasileirão. There, he played only 16 matches and scored one goal. For 2026, Guilherme Mantuan was signed by Novo Hamburgo, to compete in the first division of the Campeonato Gaúcho.

With the Corinthians jersey, besides winning the tenth Copa São Paulo for the Alvinegro in January 2017, he was champion of the 2018 Paulistão, a campaign in which the Alvinegro defeated Palmeiras on penalties at Allianz Parque. In total, he played 28 matches for the main team (23 as a starter) and provided one assist.
