Remo have shown interest in signing Santos centre-back Zé Ivaldo, who is outside the coaching staff’s plans and on the club’s negotiable list. According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos are prepared to assess offers for the defender in this transfer window.

He has not played since the 3-1 loss to Flamengo on 5 April. Since then he was named only three times in matchday squads and remained unused in Copa Sudamericana ties and away to Grêmio in the league.

He joined on loan from Cruzeiro in January 2025, with an obligation to buy if he featured in 60% of games. After a run of criticised performances, he was sidelined for about a month and trained at alternative times to avoid hitting that mark.

Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s arrival changed course, he reinstated Ivaldo as a starter and the club completed a permanent deal from Cruzeiro worth one million dollars.

Vojvoda was dismissed in March 2026. Under Cuca, Ivaldo again slipped down the order after an error against Flamengo, with Adonis Frías and João Ananias preferred alongside Lucas Veríssimo and Luan Peres.

He has 43 appearances and one goal for Santos, plus 18 yellow cards and three reds. In 2025 he played 31 times, scored once and received 15 cautions and three dismissals. In 2026 he has 12 games and three yellows.

This year also brought a run of penalties conceded in the Paulista and early Brasileirão rounds. He is under contract until 31 December 2028 and awaits a decision on his future.
