Renato Gaúcho happy to be back as Vasco agree return until 2026 | OneFootball

Renato Gaúcho posted a photo on social media and said he is happy to be back at Vasco after agreeing to return to São Januário.

According to Globo.com, the agreement was reached on Tuesday, with talks progressing overnight and concluding early afternoon. The board led by Pedrinho has sent contract drafts running until the end of 2026 for his signature, and the club have yet to announce the deal.

His backroom team will include Marcelo Salles and Alexandre Mendes, long-time colleagues. His debut is scheduled against Palmeiras on 12 in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Gaúcho previously managed Vasco from 2005 to 2006, then again in 2008.

The 63-year-old warmed to the club’s sporting project after Sunday’s Campeonato Carioca exit to Fluminense, though salary terms still needed agreement at that point.
