According to a report from RMC Sport, Stade Rennais has reached an agreement with RC Lens to sign Brice Samba (30). Samba was reported to have travelled to Paris yesterday evening to undergo a medical, which he has passed, and he has now arrived in Rennes.

The France international has been a priority signing for Les Rouges et Noirs who are looking to find an immediate replacement for their current no.1 Steve Mandanda (39). Rennes had secured personal terms with Samba last week but a total agreement with Lens had stalled.

It took the arrival of Pau López (30) from Olympique de Marseille to Lens to grease the wheels and get the transfer back on track. And it now appears only a matter of time before both clubs announce the deal.

Rennes will be hoping to use the winter transfer window to get their season back on track, with the club sat in the bottom half of the table.
