As expected after seeing the distress on his face on Wednesday night, Reo Hatate is OUT of both Trophy Day tomorrow and the Scottish Cup Final next weekend against Aberdeen at Hampden Park…

Brendan Rodgers confirmed the bad news at today’s mainstream media conference. Brendan said when asked about the injury update on Hatate: “Reo is out. He will miss the last two games, sadly for him, and for us.

“He has had a fantastic season in terms of availability – he has been involved in 55 games this season. It is just such a shame that he will miss the last couple of games,” Brendan said but at least gave a positive update on Reo being back for pre-season, which these days is not so far away with Celtic due to play in Ireland against Cork City at the beginning of July.

“He will probably be okay for the beginning of pre-season, but it is just a shame for us and even more so for him that he misses these last two games.”

Reo Hatate scored 11 goals this season and also got nine assists in his most consistent season so far in a Celtic jersey since arriving in late 2021 alongside Daizen Maeda. What a couple of brilliant signings and special thanks obviously goes to Ange Postecoglou who we will be supporting in upcoming Europa League final in Bilbao.

Let’s win it for Reo will be the message from Callum McGregor before the team heads out. Reo will get an extra-special cheer tomorrow from the Celtic support on Trophy Day as he collects his eighth winners medal in a Celtic shirt.

“Sad news He suffered an unnecessary foul against Aberdeen last week and injured his knee. #旗手怜央 But unfortunately, he misses the Scottish Cup Final, and his season is ended. He played in almost every game this season, so he would have liked to be on the pitch”

Here’s Brendan’s media conference from this afternoon ahead of the Trophy Day match at Celtic Park against St Mirren.
