Al-Hilal have reportedly joined Inter Milan in the race to sign highly-rated Atalanta star Ederson at Simone Inzaghi’s request.

According to Arab newspaper SBA Sport via FCInterNews, Inzaghi’s men are keen to hijack Inter’s pursuit of the Brazilian.

Inter’s interest in Ederson is genuine, with Cristian Chivu viewing him as a perfect fit for his project at San Siro.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri have identified the 25-year-old as an ideal replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.

Therefore, Inter were planning on making a move for Ederson if the Turk joined Galatasaray.

However, that’s now in jeopardy.

Ederson has become one of Europe’s most sought-after prospects after two outstanding years at Atalanta.

Indeed, even Liverpool tried to lure him away from Serie A last summer.

However, the Reds’ effort to sign the former Salernitana midfielder never took off.

Meanwhile, Inter had hoped to land Ederson as part of a midfield overhaul this summer.

With Al-Hilal now in the mix, that’s become increasingly difficult.

Unfortunately, the Nerazzurri cannot compete with Al-Hilal’s financial prowess.

As such, Inzaghi could land his first blow on his former club.
