Villa’s interest matters because they are not window shopping here. They need depth, flexibility and players who can grow in value. Bardghji fits that model. He is a right winger by trade, technical, young and already accustomed to the demands of a major club environment. He would not arrive as a guaranteed starter, but that is not the point. Recruitment at this level is about squad building, not fantasy football.

Barcelona Transfer Plan Clear

Sport state that five Premier League sides have made approaches. Villa are listed alongside Leeds, Sunderland and Brighton, with Fulham also in the broader picture. Our View

From an Aston Villa perspective, this feels like the sort of move that makes sense if the cost is controlled and the pathway is clear. Bardghji is talented, no doubt, but Villa cannot afford to collect young attackers without a proper plan for them. If he comes in, there has to be a role, minutes and a reason beyond simply winning a transfer race.

The upside is obvious. Barcelona do not sign players on a whim, and if they still want a buyback clause, that tells you they see genuine long-term value. Villa have done well when identifying players before their price goes through the roof, and this could fit that category. A technically sharp, left-footed right winger with top-level exposure at 20 is worth serious consideration.

The concern is also obvious. If too many clubs are circling, fees and demands can become inflated quickly. Villa should not get dragged into paying over the odds for a player who is still more promise than certainty. There is also the usual issue with buyback clauses, they can leave the buying club doing the development work for someone else.

Still, if the structure is right, this looks like a smart market opportunity. Villa need depth, quality and resale value. Bardghji could offer all three. The trick is making sure he joins because he fits the project, not because his name is suddenly fashionable this week.
