Chelsea are reportedly close to signing a new English left back for a high six-figure upfront fee in a deal ready to be completed.
Blues fans have been all about the chase to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes so far this January transfer window, a story that is dragging on and has become one of those annoying sagas as the club struggle to get it tied up. Even though they seem to have player buy in on this deal, it is the fee that they are still struggling to agree with his club.
Chelsea may look at going to an alternative option, one of which is Marcos Senesi of Bournemouth. However, it looks like if Chelsea did make a move to try and sign him, then it would be resisted by his club apparently.
Other than that, things have been pretty quiet around Chelsea this winter window so far. However, it looks like they are about to sign another new player but yep, you guessed it, it’s another teenager for the future. Sigh.

Yisa Alao of Sheff Weds
According to a report from The Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday’s 17-year-old Yisa Alao is edging closer to a January transfer to Premier League giants Chelsea.
Wednesday are apparently set to receive a high six-figure upfront fee. Discussion around the deal is understood to have taken a little longer than initially anticipated due to negotiation over hefty add-ons to be included in the deal, says the report.
Looks like Chelsea are adding in yet another young player to their array of young players they already have on their books as well as the academy teams.
