Cristian Chivu will make a decision on whether or not to keep teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito at Inter Milan this summer.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908, report that the 19-year-old could stay for the first half of the season then go out on loan in January.
The teenage striker spent last season on loan with Spezia in Serie B. It was an outstanding campaign, in which he scored a total of nineteen goals for the Ligurian club.
Now, Pio Esposito is back with the Inter squad. He travelled to the United States for the Club World Cup.
The 19-year-old came off the bench against Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday. Moreover, he could certainly feature in Inter’s final group stage match, against River Plate.

But once the Club World Cup wraps up, it will be back to thinking about the future for Pio Esposito.
The young striker could go out on loan again. And there would certainly be no lack of interest in his signature.
However, there would also be the possibility of Sebastiano Pio Esposito staying at Inter this summer.
And everything will depend on whether coach Cristian Chivu sees a role for him starting next season.
There would be little point in having Pio Esposito around if he’s not going to play. Then, a loan to a team in Serie A to gain experience would be ideal.
However, it is not unthinkable that Chivu could decide to make Pio Esposito part of his project already.
Then, the Corriere notes, it could also be the case that Chivu keeps Pio Esposito around for the first half of the season. However, then he could be loaned out in the January transfer window.
