Roma’s hopes of signing Mason Greenwood suffered a blow today with reports Fenerbahce have increased their offer, close to the Olympique Marseille €50m asking price.
The Giallorossi have had their heart set on the English player to reinforce their trident attack under coach Gian Piero Gasperini, but it has proved very difficult.

So far, Fenerbahce were leading the race on personal terms, but only made an offer of circa €30m plus add-ons to Olympique Marseille.
Now Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims today that Fenerbahce have made another formal offer that is higher than the one put forward by Roma.
The Giallorossi were preparing to make an official bid of €45m including add-ons and a future sale clause.
It is close to the €50m demanded by Olympique Marseille, and two figures from the club have flown to France for face to face negotiations, so a deal could be imminent.
At the same time, Atletico Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the situation, but the Spaniards would need to sell before making another purchase in that role.

The 24-year-old scored 26 goals with 11 assists in 45 competitive games for Marseille last season, but 40 per cent of the sale fee is owed to Manchester United.
