Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan are reportedly plotting an audacious summer bid for Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae.
According to L’Interista, the Nerazzurri are looking to sign the former Napoli star on loan with an option to buy.
Cristian Chivu’s men seem to be preparing for life after Alessandro Bastoni.
Indeed, the 26-year-old’s big-money transfer to Barcelona have become a distinct possibility after the latest turn of events.
Furthermore, Yann Bisseck could also leave San Siro this summer amid growing interest from the Premier League.
Meanwhile, the Italian giants have already decided to activate a buyout clause in their loan agreement with Manchester City for Manuel Akanji.
Bastoni’s potential exit would leave a huge hole in Inter’s defense. However, it would likely pour at least €60 million into the club’s coffers.
However, replacing a player of Bastoni’s caliber will be anything but straightforward, forcing the Nerazzurri to explore high-level alternatives.
Therefore, Inter are considering Kim as a suitable candidate to replace the former Atalanta man at San Siro.
Indeed, the 29-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the Bundesliga this season, cementing his first-team status in Munich.
Kim has made 30 appearances in all competitions. With his contract running out in 2028, the Bavarians are unlikely to let him leave on favorable terms.
