Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly reignited their interest in Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to L’Interista, the 29-year-old remains an exciting option for the Nerazzurri, as he could join the club on a free transfer.
Julian Brandt swapped Bayer Leverkusen for Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019 and has since made over 300 appearances for the club.
Furthermore, he has netted 11 goals and added three assists across 36 competitive outings this season.
However, he will be out of contract in June, with the BVB unable to tie him down to a new deal.
Brandt is an established Bundesliga star and one of Europe’s most highly rated advanced playmakers.
Therefore, Inter have added him to their shortlist heading into the summer transfer window.
Moreover, Brandt’s salary is well within Inter’s reach, with the German midfielder taking home €3.5 million net per season.
It’s also worth noting that Brandt’s versatility enables him to cover multiple roles in the middle of the park and attack.
As such, he would be a perfect fit for Inter, especially now that Cristian Chivu intends to switch formation to a 3-4-2-1.
