Liverpool and Man Utd Eye Maghnes Akliouche as Monaco Prepare for Summer Exit

Monaco Situation Creates Transfer Opportunity

Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche ahead of what could become one of the more intriguing transfer races of the summer.

According to TeamTalk, Monaco are braced for a significant squad overhaul after failing to qualify for European football. That disappointment has increased uncertainty around several key players, with Akliouche expected to be among the headline departures.

The 24-year-old has produced seven goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season, form that has placed him firmly on the radar of Premier League clubs.

Akliouche Attracts Premier League Attention

TeamTalk understands that Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all watched Akliouche closely in recent months.

His appeal is clear. He operates regularly from the right, but is also comfortable centrally and in wider attacking areas. That versatility has made him attractive to clubs looking for greater creativity and flexibility in the final third.

Scouts have been particularly impressed by his technical quality, tactical intelligence and consistency. TeamTalk report that those tracking him believe he has shown “his ability to influence games consistently at a high level.”

For Liverpool, who continue to assess long term attacking options, that profile makes sense. For United, who need more reliable creativity and balance in forward areas, the appeal is just as obvious.

France Recognition Strengthens Monaco Position

Akliouche’s growing reputation has also been boosted by his inclusion in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for this summer’s World Cup.

TeamTalk understands Monaco believe that call up has “significantly strengthened both the player’s market profile and potential valuation” heading into the window.

That is important. Monaco may accept that keeping Akliouche without European football will be difficult, but they are not expected to sell cheaply. Sources close to the French club indicate they will only sanction a departure if their valuation is met.

PSG Interest Adds Complication

Paris Saint Germain are also monitoring the situation closely. TeamTalk state that PSG view Akliouche as “a potential long-term replacement for Bradley Barcola should the winger eventually depart the Parc des Princes.”

That interest could complicate matters for Premier League clubs. PSG can offer domestic familiarity, elite competition and a clear place within their evolving attacking structure.

Still, the expectation is that interest will intensify once the World Cup concludes. If Akliouche impresses on the international stage, Monaco’s negotiating position will only grow stronger.

For Liverpool and United, the decision will be whether to move decisively or risk being drawn into a more expensive chase later in the summer.

Our View EPL Index – Man United Fan Analysis

From a Manchester United perspective, Akliouche is exactly the type of player supporters should be curious about, but also cautious with.

United need creativity, no question. Too often the attack has looked predictable, reliant on moments rather than patterns. A technically secure, versatile forward who can play from the right or through central areas would give the side something different.

The concern is whether United have a clear plan for him. Recent years have shown that signing talented players is not enough. They need to arrive into a structure that helps them develop, rather than one that asks them to solve everything immediately.

Akliouche’s numbers, seven goals and 11 assists, are encouraging. His France call up is another sign of his progress. But if PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle are all involved, United cannot afford another drawn out saga without clarity.

If the recruitment team believe he fits the system, this is the kind of forward thinking signing fans would welcome. But it has to be based on role, value and tactical fit, not simply another big name chase.
