Manchester United are interested in signing the Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio during the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Portuguese publication A Bola, Manchester United have now enquired to sign the player. Sporting CP are prepared to sell the defender for a fee of around £43 million. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to pay up.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has worked with the player during his time at the Portuguese club, and Inacio was an important player for him. It is no surprise that he is keen on a reunion with Inacio this summer. Amorim has labelled Inacio as a “brilliant” player in the past.
Meanwhile, other European clubs are keeping tabs on his situation as well.
The Portuguese international will move to compete at the highest level, and moving to Manchester United could be quite exciting for him. He would get to showcase his qualities in the Premier League and fight for trophies with the Red Devils in future.

He is still relatively young, and he could improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a key player for the club. Manchester United looked vulnerable defensively last season, and they need to improve in that area of the pitch.
Signing a reliable defender like Inacio would be a wise decision. Not only is he a quality defender, but he is also used to playing under Amorim, and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an instant impact at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, the 23-year-old defender is capable of operating in central defence as well as a left-back. His versatility will be an added bonus. The Portuguese international is calm and composed with the ball at his feet, and he will help Manchester United build from the back.
