Inter Milan could find a new midfielder in the unlikeliest of places, with Man Utd starlet Kobbie Mainoo emerging as an option.

According to Libero via FCInter1908, United’s pursuit of Lucien Agoume could push the young gun toward the exit door.

Unable to sign Carlos Baleba, the Red Devils have identified Lucien Agoume as their new top target.

Indeed, Ruben Amorim’s charges are ready to submit a €40 million bid for Inter’s co-owned midfielder.

Despite massive expectations at the start of his senior career at Old Trafford, Mainoo has tumbled down the pecking order.

Since Amorim’s appointment, he has struggled to secure consistent playing time, often coming on as a substitute.

Mainoo started just half of Man Utd’s 38 games in the Premier League season, though it was partially due to injury problems.

However, the 20-year-old may seek a shock exit if the Red Devils keep piling up midfielders.

It could offer Inter a perfect chance to sign one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects.
