Monza are targeting young Inter Milan defender Tomas Palacios as a replacement for Pablo Mari after the Spaniard joins Fiorentina.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Monza have been pushing to sign Inter defender Tomas Palacios.
The 22-year-old has barely featured for Inter over the first half of the season.
The Nerazzurri signed Palacios last summer. They signed him to bolster their defense in the future, rather than in the present.
Therefore, a loan away could give the Argentine the opportunity to get more playing time.
Monza are not the only team with an interest in Palacios’s signature.
Reportedly, Bayer Leverkusen are also keen to sign the Argentine.
However, the Brianzoli are ready to push for the loan deal.
Monza are set to sell defender Pablo Mari to Fiorentina. The former Arsenal and Udinese defender has been a stalwart of their defense, but wants the switch to Tuscany.
That leaves the Brianzoli with a big hole to fill in defense. Particularly considering their tough situation in the relegation battle.
And according to Tuttosport, it is Inter defender Palacios who they want to fill it with.
