Napoli could reportedly make a new attempt to sign Inter Milan star Davide Frattesi in the summer transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Partenopei have not lost hope of signing the 25-year-old.

Indeed, Antonio Conte’s side tried to negotiate Frattesi’s arrival in January.

However, their pursuit of the former Sassuolo midfielder suffered the same fate as Roma’s.

Strapped for options in the engine room, Inter boss Simone Inzaghi blocked Frattesi’s winter exit.

But things could change in the summer.

Low in the pecking order, Davide Frattesi could file another transfer request at the end of the season.

With Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of him, first-team opportunities have been at a premium for the Italian.

Therefore, he could force his way out of the San Siro in the summer.

Despite securing Scott McTominay’s services, Conte remains in the market for a new midfield addition.

It’s uncertain whether Napoli will sign Philip Billing permanently after bringing him on loan from Bournemouth in January.

As such, they could launch a new offer for Frattesi when the transfer window reopens for business.
