Manchester United have reportedly seen an approach for Real Madrid forward Endrick rejected, as Ruben Amorim looks to reinforce his attacking options following Benjamin Sesko’s injury. According to Globo Esporte, United made contact with Madrid after Sesko sustained a knee problem during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham, but the 18-year-old Brazilian has already agreed to join Lyon on loan.

Sesko’s withdrawal from international duty with Slovenia has prompted further medical tests, though the club remain hopeful the issue is not a long-term setback. Amorim, who has pushed for depth in attack since arriving, was keen to secure a temporary deal for Endrick to cover the potential absence.
Real Madrid and Endrick have reportedly decided that a move to Ligue 1 will offer more regular playing time after the teenager fell out of favour under Xabi Alonso. Once hailed as one of football’s brightest prospects, Endrick has managed just 11 minutes of senior football this season.

The report adds that the forward, left out of Brazil’s last four international squads, sees the move to France as a chance to rebuild form and confidence ahead of the 2026 World Cup cycle.
Amorim’s plans for United’s January window could now shift toward alternative targets, with the manager determined not to be short of attacking options. Endrick’s decision to favour Lyon highlights the current challenge facing United, where playing time and project clarity are central to attracting young talent.
For now, the club await clarity on Sesko’s recovery timeline before committing to further moves, but this setback underlines their growing urgency to strengthen before the window opens.
